5. Servicing the Taxpayers

At the end of the day, the job of a Boston City Councilor is to service the taxpaying public. As taxpayers, you demand and deserve great city services, such as trash pick up, snow removal, clean streets and parks. Each neighborhood has its unique needs, whether it’s trimming trees in West Roxbury or fixing potholes in Mattapan. I will work with residents throughout the neighborhoods to ensure that City Hall is aware of new issues, and to ensure that the taxpayers’ needs are being met with great customer service.

As City Councilor, I will:

  • Ensure that the City continues to provide these services in a timely and efficient manner for all of Boston’s neighborhoods;
  • Use today’s technology such as Twitter and Facebook for real time communication;
  • Fight to install recycling bins in all of our neighborhood business districts; and
  • Have an open office policy for resident to stop by my Council office and see me when they have issues.

Elected officials often forget that the taxpayers and voters are the one’s they are suppose to work for. I will not forget that and will keep it top of mind everyday.
